Located within the center of the world-class city cluster in eastern China’s Yangtze River Delta region, Lishui district of Nanjing city connects Shanghai and Hangzhou, two major cities in the country. A place comparable to Lishui could hardly be found in eastern China, as Lishui boasts a multimodal transport system which includes airport, railway, highway, light railway and waterway modes of translation. In 2019, Lishui ranked 52nd among the country’s top 100 districts in terms of comprehensive strength and 18th among the top 100 districts in terms of achievements in green development.

Lishui is the promiseland of high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in Nanjing. In recent years, the district’s new energy vehicle industry, airport economy industry and health industry, whose output values have all exceeded hundreds of billion yuan, have increasingly become its iconic industries. The district has become a dark horse in the manufacturing industry in Yangtze River Delta region. By the end of 2019, Lishui district won the approval for the construction of the high-quality manufacturing development pilot zone of Nanjing. So far, an array of the world’s top manufacturing enterprises including ConMet and A.O.Smith of the US, the Italian enterprise Brembo as well as Siemens of Germany have established their branches and started production in Lishui.
